This week Arnie and Marjorie review an item that’s hard on the tongue but
nice on the eyes, the Kotobukiya ARTFX Scout Trooper statue. This was an
item Arnie had toyed with keeping or trading off, and he finally opened it
up to give it a close look. Did it earn a final place in the Sithsonian?
Also, Arnie and Marjorie reflect back on 1988. Star Wars was 11 years old,
and 11 is an awkward age for many things. Adolescence is nearing, youth is
behind it. Star Wars endured this awkward period as well, and there was not
much to show for it. Sure, behind the scenes Timothy Zahn was preparing to
write Heir to the Empire and bring Star Wars back to the mainstream, but to
the average person Star Wars was no where to be found…except on the screen
of your Amiga or Commodore 64 computer. The Star Wars Action News hosts
resurrect a “classic” video game from that period and see if it holds up
with age.
Don’t forget, our scavenger hunt contest for the Sideshow Jabba the Hutt and
throne has only one week left, the winner will be announced on our next
podcast.
