However it may seem to us collectors and web site staff, Toy Fair doesn't exist to excite collectors about toys, it's there for toy manufacturers to hook up with toy distributors to get shelf space for toys each year. But not all manufacturers rely on distributors for sales, such as eFX and Sideshow Collectibles, and in this economy where every dollar counts some companies choose to excite collectors by making announcements during Toy Fair without actually taking the trip to New York.
