Starting overseas, Star Wars in Concert has been touring the states for many
months now. At last that tour has reached the midwest and last week they
played in Chicago, St. Louis, and Indianapolis. Marjorie, Arnie, and
Kubrick Boba attended the concert and are here to give you an in-depth
review of the concert and the exhibit outside. And after you've listened,
be sure to visit www.swactionnews.com
to see all the photos from the event.
Also Arnie got the chance to talk to David Iskra, curator of the Star Wars
props on the show. They talk about some of the origin of the props and some
of the challenges unique to a Star Wars road show like this.
And finally this week, it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas.
Marjorie and Arnie talk about some of this year's new Hallmark ornaments,
and Marjorie reveals how she made a vintage Empire Strikes Back Christmas
Tree Skirt!
With a Hasbro Q&A and what hot items you can still order from Brian's Toys
for Christmas, it's all on Star Wars Action News!
1) In recent Hasbro Q&As you've repeatedly referenced a waning adult Star
Wars collector base. I was wondering what evidence you are seeing of that
(is it just the more collector oriented figures like Yarna sitting on the
pegs, or do you have deeper research)?
2) It seems lately that figures, any figures, are scarce on our pegs.
While some waves have shown up recently, they sell through and seem to not
be restocked as often, if at all (and this holds for both the Legacy and
the
Clone Wars lines of figures). Some Star Wars fans are beginning to
speculate that there are less of these figures being released into the
market. While I know you can't give specific numbers, can you tell us if
the production runs of Star WArs figures are smaller today than they were
1,
2, or even 5 years ago, or is there some other reason for the scarcity of
these newer waves?
3) While the extra accessories packed with some recent Greatest hits
figures were nice, collectors and diorama builders have been asking on our
forums for more types of accessories, be they lightsabers or original
trilogy era weaponry. Are there any ways such additional accessories
might
be made available for collectors in the future (either in more Greatest
Hits
figures, through HasbroToyShop, Accessory Packs, etc?)
